Carotid Artery Scan

 The Carotid Ultrasound Screen is a painless non-invasive screening test utilizing digital ultrasound technology. The carotid ultrasound is brief (approximately 10 minutes), does not require disrobing, and does not have any radiation exposure.

Scientific data shows that a Carotid Ultrasound Screen is the best tool for the assessment of stroke risk. Carotid Ultrasound Screen results correlate, to a limited degree, with cardiac risk assessment. However, combined with an Ultrafast CT heart scan, you have an excellent screening profile of risk for peripheral arterial disease, MI (heart attack), and stroke.
